Potential access road to Edwalton Community Building in latest Sharphill planning application

03/03/2021 by Digital Media

A possible new location for a community building in Edwalton has now been suggested as part of the latest planning application at Sharphill.

The possible access road for a community building has been referenced on plans for phase seven of Vistry Homes’ planning application to Rushcliffe Borough Council and highlights the possible creation of a community centre in the area.

It outlines a potential access to the community parkland part of the site and delivering the community building.

It could see the creation of a new focal point for the area, complementing part of the new communities being created, including the new Rosecliffe Spencer Academy Primary School.

Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council and ward councillor for Edwalton Cllr Simon Robinson said: “I am very pleased the site has now been identified as part of this planning application.

“We have been working with developers for many years to deliver a new centre and community infrastructure as part of any plans given the scale of these new communities.

“A new community centre could ensure a meeting place and somewhere these new communities can call their own. Look out for more updates once these plans develop further.

“Any subsequent plans the Council receive will of course be subject to an independent planning process.”
