Plans for £20m West Bridgford retail park given green light

16/03/2020 by Digital Media

Plans for a £20m scheme that will include a Lidl supermarket in West Bridgford have been given the go-ahead.

Wilford Lane Developments has been given the green light to develop the vacant land between the Becket School and Wilford Lane in a move which could create 80 jobs.

The development has been revised down from £50m plans that were rejected last year. Then, Wilford Lane Developments wanted to build a new Lidl supermarket with 350 car parking spaces, a pub, a drive-thru coffee shop, 204 apartments in four blocks and 75 retirement homes.

The fresh plans were approved last week by Rushcliffe Borough Council despite local opposition to an increase in traffic.
