Rushcliffe Borough Council has gifted a historic photo of Lutterell Hall to The Rock Church to proudly display in the community building they now manage in West Bridgford.
The photograph was taken by a local resident in 1929 and was found in the Council’s archives earlier this year, depicting its early heritage as a notable building in the town, which is now Grade II listed.
Upon locating the image, the Council arranged for it to be enhanced and printed on a new large canvas.
It was donated by Leader Cllr Simon Robinson alongside the framed original to Senior Leaders of The Rock Church Alistair and Kate Kent and Operations Manager Sofia Lesiuk, who took over the lease of the building in May.
Lutterell Hall is now newly refurbished and managed by the organisation and can be hired for events including weddings, parties, classes and conferences with further details on how to book on the dedicated website: www.lutterellhall.org.uk
Cllr Robinson said: “We were delighted to gift these brilliant historical photographs to The Rock Church, who will display them inside the building highlighting the hall’s history in the town.
“It’s great to see continued renovation work taking place at the hall so that it remains to be a high-quality community facility. I would encourage anyone to come and take a look at the refurbishment to date, the group have done a great job so far in making it ever more attractive to new audiences.
The Rock Church manage day to day bookings and usage of the Hall, keeping the building open for community use with St Giles’ preschool continuing to use the base.
The new operating model highlights the shared ambitions of the community, council and local groups to attract more community activities to the Hall and provides an increased sense of community ownership and involvement of this valued asset in the town.
Alistair said: “It’s brilliant to receive these almost century old photos of the Hall from the Council which will now take pride of place inside the building for those using the facility to admire.”
Sofia added: “The facility is now ready to hire. Please get in touch if you would like to look around ahead of a booking and be given a guided tour of the premises.
