Nearly everyone in Nottingham is talking about Penny Lane. Located in the Lace Market, with a seaside-inspired entertainment theme – it seems to be the go-to place on any night of the week!
We headed down Penny Lane to check it out to see why everyone is talking about it!
They offer table service with a good variety on their food menu, but if you’re only wanting drinks then you’re in for a treat. The wide range of cocktails from sweet to sour are so much fun and super tasty!
The food options include tapas style small plates to burgers and hot dogs, there’s something for everyone including a children’s menu and gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
We opted for a range of small plates, some of our favourites had to be the Popcorn Jerk Chicken, Gyozas, Baked Camembert and Meatballs. Super tasty, full of flavour we couldn’t get enough!
We of course had to try out some of the cocktails! From the menu they were inspired from childhood memories – including being by the seaside. From Calippo to Skittle Fizz, there’s even sharers where you can play Hook-A-Duck and drink!
There’s a great range of mocktails too! We chose Jammy Dodgem, Penny Lane Pornstar, 99 Problems but the beach ain’t one and Skittle Fizz!
The cocktails all stood out independently with their bold flavours and really reminded us of the favourite sweets from our childhood.
Moving onto what makes Penny Lane stand out in Nottingham – the Arcade! You truly feel you’re by the seaside in an arcade, with a great range of games to play with the £1 Penny Lane Tokens. From iconic amusement games like air hockey, table football, pin ball and video arcade machines plus Roll-a-Ball Derby.
We had so much fun, we felt like we were kids again!
We would highly recommend Penny Lane, whether you’re a couple, a small group or even for a work night out. We cannot wait to go back!
