On Tuesday 12th December, St. Mary’s Church welcomed back the Searchlight Theatre Company for two performances of their Christmas Pantomime “Oliver with a Christmas Twist”.
The audiences were entertained by Oliver and Mr Scrooge not to mention the other familiar characters in those Dickens stories.
Both stories were cleverly bounced off each other. We were given a lesson in Cockney by just half of an Artful Dodger (his right side) alongside just half of Oliver (his left side).
Lots of laughs could be heard during both performances with the two actors encouraging audience engagement in their own particular style of humour.
The message and meaning of Christmas was not left out in the story but cleverly included in the script.
It was an excellent performance which everyone really liked – if you couldn’t make it, then you really missed a treat!
