Nottinghamshire County Show announces discounted advance tickets now on sale!

04/03/2020 by Digital Media

If like us, you’re longing for the warmer days of spring, you’ll be pleased to know that advance tickets for one of the first, big outdoor events of the year have gone on sale this week, and at a discounted price, so you can plan ahead for a fun, family day out! Advance tickets are £10 per adult and available via the website – plus, children 16 and under are free!

The countdown for the Nottinghamshire County Show, held at the Newark Showground on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2020 has begun and with just over two months to go until the two day event, now’s your chance to put the date in your diary, and remember, this year’s May Day has been moved to the same weekend, so with action packed entertainment, hands on activities and 100’s of stalls to browse, you’re sure to have a bank holiday weekend to remember.

Event organisers are bringing together the very best of the East Midlands with a jam-packed showground full of all things farming, food and family fun, in one big, wonderful celebration of the region’s countryside.

They’re also giving an early preview of just some of the highlights of this year’s show –

What to look out for:

As part of the VE Day 75 celebrations there will be a chance to see how the farming and agricultural industry supported the war effort – highlights include a Victory Street party complete with bunting and sing along with the ‘Victory Doll’, a vintage vocalist who will be performing war time jazz and swing music.  There will be a heritage display and parade, celebrating Nottinghamshire agricultural heroes during the Second World War. Plus, special military guests and interactive learning with the Women’s Land Army reenactors. Children can also get involved in the ‘Dig for Victory’ allotment.

Making their very first appearance at the show, Big Pete’s world-famous Monster Trucks and their car crushing carnage show is a spectacle not to be missed and they will be spinning, crashing and jumping their way around the main ring on both days, with live commentary from the drivers.

Back by popular demand, the Notts Young Farmer’s will compete in the annual Lawn Mower Racing, where 8 clubs compete in their fantastic purpose-built creations to be crowned the 2020 winner.

See over 400 agricultural and farming competitions and classes, from traditional livestock to vintage vehicles, farriery and floral art. Be sure to head over to the horse and pony ring to watch a variety of wonderful equine classes and spectacular show jumping, as they compete for trophies. The ever-popular heavy horses, both working and show teams, are always a great spectacle – a chance to see and get up close to these majestic animals. Don’t miss the Mounted Games competition – you’ll be amazed at the skill and speed of these talented riders and ponies. Come and cheer them on as they compete in a range of exciting games with turns, handovers, vaulting and galloping against their rival teams.

Whether you’re looking for family entertainment, farming, food or crafts this spring, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone at the Nottinghamshire County Show, taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2020.  Set across 126 acres of showground and with easy access – 2 minutes off the A46, just 1.5 miles from the A1, a 20 minute drive from Lincoln and 40 minutes from Nottingham city centre.  On the day tickets – £15 per adult.  Parking is free and gates open at 8am until 6pm.  For more information or to buy tickets visit www.nottinghamshirecountyshow.com.
