Jason James and David Salt from Nottingham launch The Closet MONSTERS: A 7 Minute Animated Pilot Kickstarter Campaign.

The Closet Monsters ©2020 created by Jason James and David Salt.
Nottingham based cartoonist Jason James, and writer David Salt, are all hands on deck with their animated pilot episode, The Closet MONSTERS, and are happy to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign through Kickstarter on the 19th of February, 2021. If funded this will be the first animated sitcom to be created in the UK for over a decade.
The Closet Monsters is a collaboration between Jason & David. Two guys in the late summer of life, who grew up a stone’s throw apart, south of the river in Nottingham. Heavily influenced by the cartoons, TV & comedy of the 80’s & 90’s, the idea for The Closet Monsters came about by Jason’s love of animation & David’s twist on characters and together we built a world that they could inhabit. With several characters already in place, it is a concept that can grow & become multidimensional; we hope that you’ll come with us on this amazing journey.
This will be a big production, and will involve a team of really talented artists to bring this to the screen. Our team will be made up of local talent as well as artists from Ireland, and the USA.
Our Kickstarter campaign is split into two sections, the first being PRE-PRODUCTION, and for the second section we have set as a stretch goal, and this will be for the PRODUCTION stage.
We decided to do it this way, so that we can at least get the PRE-PRODUCTION funded and make a start on bringing this exciting new cartoon to life.
We have some AMAZING REWARDS for you as potential backers of our project, ranging from as little as £5 and going up to £500. You can even be an extra in the episode! – How cool is that!!!
Our style is unique, but will have some parallels with other shows out there such as Rick and Morty, South Park and The Simpsons.
So if you like these shows, you’ll love The Closet Monsters.
