Nottingham man rowing towards a sea of donations for charity

15/04/2020 by Digital Media

A local man is aiming to row an astonishing 1 million metres on his indoor rowing machine in aid of the Nottingham University Hospitals Charity.

President of the Nottingham Rowing Club, Tony Lorrimer came up with the idea of challenging himself to row 1 million metres at home which he aims to complete by April 30th, hoping to achieve 10,000 metres a day for 35 days.

The Nottingham University Hospitals Charity was chosen by Tony as many of the Rowing Club members work there, he knows how hard they’re working and their bravery during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Lorrimer has set up a Just Giving page with a huge target of £100,000 to raise for the charity. Tony said, “As my old Dad used to say, ‘Aim for the moon, what is the worst that can happen if you miss, you may hit Mars instead’.

“Let us show what the rowing community and friends can do”
