The February event was well attended with 16 volunteers plus three members of staff from KFC. We collected an amazing 34 bags which is a fantastic effort!
Many thanks to all that helped and to A453 KFC and Tesco Express who kindly provided refreshments and treats after; it’s good to have time for a catch-up!
Let’s Talk, Talk – litter! Do we talk enough?
It’s all around us. We don’t have to walk or drive far and it’s there! Be vocal, speak to your peers, family and friends, make it a topic of conversation, let’s not pretend it’s not there.
Talk! Discuss this awful anti-social behaviour! We’re a modern society with a fantastic infrastructure that allows us to be responsible.
Our rubbish is collected on a regular basis, we can recycle at home or take items to dedicated centres that deal with broken and unwanted goods. Items can also be collected from your home and charity shops take unwanted items too.
Public bins are provided; maybe there could be more but often you see litter nearby where “irresponsibles” clearly can’t be bothered to use them. And if there are no bins, well, we should simply take our rubbish home!
Let’s talk the subject to end this plight. Love where we live, take pride and let’s show that we want to live in a clean society, respecting the environment and all those that use it.
When an area has been cleared it really is lovely to see how it looks, it gives volunteers a sense of wellbeing – it looks loved and cared for!
Let’s stop littering – Talk!
In the meantime, join the effort and for your free litter kit for adults and children all you need to do is simply complete a form and sign.
I’m now authorised to do this locally and provide the required kit; I’ll arrange to meet you.
