New service launches at Well Pharmacy in Cotgrave

22/02/2026 by Digital Media

Residents in Cotgrave can now access a new free weight management consultation service at Well Pharmacy, offering personalised support from an accredited pharmacist.

Patients are invited to pop into the local pharmacy for a one-to-one consultation with pharmacist Scott, who will help individuals work towards their weight loss goals in a safe and supportive environment. The service is the latest addition to a growing range of healthcare services available at the Cotgrave branch.

Branch manager Karen Alexander said the aim has always been to provide the local community and surrounding villages with an accessible health hub where people can receive professional advice without needing an appointment.

“The role of community pharmacy is evolving,” she said. “It’s not just about buying a bottle of cough medicine or picking up a monthly prescription anymore, although those remain an important part of what we do. It’s also about offering a complete care package and a more holistic approach to patients’ health and wellbeing.”

The personalised weight management service has already shown positive results for several patients. One of them, Kerry Beckett, 63, from Aslockton, has lost 3.5 stone in just four months.

Kerry said she decided to visit the pharmacy after noticing a poster advertising the service. “Scott instantly put me at ease and thoroughly explained the process, the products, and the pros and cons, so I could make an informed decision,” she said. “After a weight and height check, he prescribed the product and gave full counselling on how to use it.”

She now visits the pharmacy every four weeks for a check-in, during which her progress and blood pressure are monitored. “Since starting my regimen, I’ve lost 3.5 stone, feel amazing, and have so much more energy for my horses and my grandchildren,” she added.

Scott said weight loss journeys should always be supported by expert care. “A weight loss journey deserves trusted support, so patients know they are in safe hands every step of the way. That’s exactly what I aim to provide,” he said.

A range of treatments is available, all subject to availability, eligibility, and suitability, and provided at the discretion of an accredited pharmacist.

Karen Alexander added: “I am incredibly proud of the hard work my team has put in to deliver the services we offer and to provide the very best care for our patients.”

Residents are encouraged to visit Well Pharmacy in Cotgrave to find out more and begin their weight loss journey.
