On the site of the former Clifton Bridge Inn at the intersection of the A52 and A453 now sits a stunning new 83-bed contemporary care home. Built by Wynbrook Limited and designed by Rayner Davies Architects, the scheme has created around 50 new jobs and has been greatly welcomed by the local community after the site had been in a derelict state for a number of years.
Wilford View is an impressive care home development sitting well in an elevated position within urban surroundings. The complex design incorporates full-height windows with chamfered side panel details and beautiful detailed brickwork panels to provide a thoroughly pleasing exterior to the eye.
The interior design has been undertaken by Heidi Lazenby and provides a welcoming modern and contemporary feel immediately upon entering the building. This has been achieved through the clever use of both calming and vibrant colour schemes and is enhanced by the incorporation of designer lighting, wallcoverings and luxurious soft furnishings.
Offering 83 spacious bedrooms all with en-suite wet rooms, the accommodation provides comfortable communal lounge areas along with an additional quiet lounge on each floor, separate dining rooms, a reception with café area, cinema room, hairdressing salon and several treatment rooms.
To the rear of the development sits a large patio area with landscaped planted beds which is enclosed on three sides creating a beautiful sun-terrace for residents, shielded from road noise by the building.
Along with Edward Cooper Young Surveyors and HWA Structural Engineers this is the fifth care home Wynbrook have built for their clients, Medina Limited.
Steve Day, Construction Director for Wynbrook commented “it was a pleasure to work for Medina again on this development. It contains their highest standard of internal fit-out and is now their Flagship Care Home and the best care home facility in the local area.”
Project architect for Rayner Davies Julien McGuinness said “We were delighted to be asked to design another care home for Medina. This one was not without its challenges, but the result is we think a credit to everyone that was involved”
Dan Bailey, partner at Howard Ward Associates (HWA), added: “We are proud to be involved in this project working with Wynbrook and the team, to deliver Medina’s Flagship Care Home and transform a previously dilapidated site into a valuable facility for the local community.”
