Stanhope Primary School in Gedling welcomed a host of visitors into school to celebrate joining the Flying High Partnership, a primary multi-academy trust founded in Cotgrave in 2012.

Head Teacher Amanda Richards addressed assembled families at the event saying, “Stanhope is a special place, with a long history of being part of the community. We pride ourselves on being a place where everyone is welcome and where we work tirelessly to help all our children achieve. I know, that by becoming part of the Flying High Partnership, the door will open to a wider range of experiences for everyone involved in life at Stanhope Primary School.”
The event hosted a variety of stalls, and children sang the Flying High Partnership song for visiting families.
Chris Wheatley, CEO of The Flying High Partnership spoke to visitors saying, “We are delighted to welcome Stanhope Primary School into our multi-academy trust and have enjoyed getting to know the staff and children in the lead up to today. It is clear to everyone that Stanhope has a fantastic and supportive school community, where families and staff want the very best for their children.
“We share their aims. Our mission working in partnership with our schools is for growth and development on their improvement journey. We are proud of our record of a 100% improved or maintained Ofsted outcomes across Flying High schools; but we know that this standard can only be achieved by basing all of our decisions on what is best for the education and wellbeing of each and every child.
“For our children, every day counts. This is why we work hard to provide the best career development opportunities for staff, thereby giving children access to the high-quality education they deserve, in safe and happy school environments.
“We can’t wait to share all of the wonderful times ahead with the children, their families and the staff at Stanhope Primary School. We are committed to supporting them to achieve their aims and dreams as we move forward together.”
The school, located on Keyworth Road in Gedling, is now enjoying its first term within the multi-academy trust and Amanda Richards, Head Teacher says she is excited about the future. “We are delighted to become part of the Flying High Partnership and we are looking forward to a bright future at Stanhope. One of the key tasks of any leader in school, is to be constantly looking for ways to ensure that the children in their care have access to the best opportunities, whether that be within school, or further field.
“At Stanhope, our intent for our children is to prepare them not only for the next lesson, the next week, the next year or the next phase, but to prepare them for life; to give them the knowledge, skills and self-belief to be confident members of society. In fact, our mission is to develop in children a “love of learning for life.” We know that this cannot be achieved in isolation, and that opportunities come when working together in partnership, and this is what has brought us to today.”
