Nottingham City Transport has donated one of its former Training Buses to Coppice Farm Primary School in Arnold, where it will be transformed into a Learning Bus!
With over 640,000 miles on the clock it will now be used to enrich the education of pupils at the Arnold primary school.
The donation of the bus – which was driven to the school on Monday 24 February – started with a tweet by the school’s Deputy Head, Donna Quarless-McGee who had seen a bus at another school and asked if NCT had one available. Donna said, “This learning bus is going to have such a huge impact for us. It will host all of our music lessons and also be a much needed space for intervention and nurture groups.”
Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Marketing Manager added, “Following a record breaking year of investment in 2019, when 77 brand new buses entered service, we had a small number of buses to donate to local communities”.
“After one of our bendy buses was transformed in to a school library in Chilwell a couple of years ago, donating one to Coppice Farm Primary School for another exciting school project was an obvious choice, particularly as the bus was used to teach bus drivers how to drive and will now have a new life teaching young people in Arnold.”
