Dave Wilson aged twenty-eight from Beeston took on the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The Robin Hood Half Marathon is one of the longest established and most popular city centre road events in the UK.
The route is a traffic free picturesque course that starts at Victoria Embankment and takes in many sights along the way including Nottingham Castle, Wollaton Park and finishes on Victoria Embankment Recreation Ground next to the River Trent.
“I chose to take on the Robin Hood Half Marathon to challenge myself and to raise vital funds to support the WNAA and DLRAA crews who have helped to save lives across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, including some of those close to me.” said Dave Wilson.
The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crews deliver critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.
