Nottingham Casuals Rugby Football Club celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday 5th March in style with a festival for all the girls and ladies in their club, who play and support women’s rugby – from under 7s right up to senior adults.

Mixed age teams played rounds of Touch Rugby followed by a show of strength at Tug of War.
Loughborough Lightnings and ‘Red Roses’ England guests of honour Jess Weaver, Lilli Ives Compton and Georgina Tasker, joined in the fun and held a lively Q&A in the clubhouse after the games, along with guest female referee Annette Zhao. We were also joined by Jo Mallard from the original 1991 women’s team and our friends from South Notts Sapphires.
Nottingham Casuals RFC girls teams start at under 5 and go all the way through to 6th Form. The women’s team, relaunched for 2023 and coinciding with our centenary season, is gaining members each week. Come and join us – ALL are welcome, rugby supports different skills, speeds and sizes. Priorities are fun, fitness and friendship.
