In celebration of National Storytelling Week (30th January to 5th February), classic stories were brought to life for pupils at Carnarvon Primary School in Bingham, thanks to an event funded by David Wilson Homes.
The school, which is located near the homebuilder’s Romans’ Quarter development in Bingham, was recently treated to a morning of professional storytelling hosted by local storyteller, Mark Fraser.

Mark said: “It was a great privilege to be asked to read stories to the pupils at Carnarvon Primary School as a way of celebrating National Storytelling Week.
“It always amazes me that children will engage, create and be enraptured by storytelling and it is wonderful to see large corporate businesses supporting and encouraging such creativity.”
National Storytelling Week takes place on the last week of January each year, and is celebrated by people of all ages who read the likes of folktales, fairy tales, science fiction stories and more.
Mr Board, Headteacher at Carnarvon Primary School, said: “We love having experts in their field come in to talk to the children at Carnarvon, and having Mark in to tell some stories in his own unique style was fantastic.
“The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and we’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for arranging the morning for us.”
