More Stories from the Beeston Rylands is the second book containing a collection of memories, reminiscences and photographs of the local area past and present, by Carole White.
Including life on Trent Vale Farm, what Jesse Boot did for the local area, end of an era for the Plessey’s, local celebrities and bronze age finds and much more.
Every community has its own history so here’s your chance to read about it all in one place, making it the perfect gift for a loved one.
The collection of stories and photographs were left to Carole by her late parents, plus some contributions from other locals.
Carole said, “A great deal of interest has been shown in the Rylands recently since the opening of the Weir Cottages and Heritage Centre at Beeston Locke. If we can keep old pictures and preserve photographs and stories of our area, this way we can save our heritage for future generations and our history will not be forgotten.”
This new book is available at Weir Cottages Heritage Centre, Beeston Locks, Rylands and Heaps Stationers, Main Street Long Eaton for £10.
More Stories from the Beeston Rylands is a follow on from Carole White’s first book titled, Beeston Rylands Remembered. There are still copies available priced at £8 at the Weir Cottages and Heaps, Main Street, Long Eaton.
