Nottingham care home, Leawood Manor, is celebrating the completion of a brand new, 8 bedroom extension, meeting the call for more personal care support facilities for people in the local area.
The extension marks the end of a wider, entire home refurb project following an £800,000 investment by the home’s operator, Runwood Homes.
Taking 6 months from start to finish, the 8 new bedrooms, each complete with en suite wet room facilities, plus new sociable lounge and dining areas, means that the home can now accommodate up to 79 residents to provide person-centred care, with the aid of mobile care monitoring technology – electronically evidencing care and affording carers more time to engage in meaningful activities with those they care for.
Manager, Zimran Alam, who has led the home’s professional care team for almost 3 years commented on the new unit, named Fern Avenue, given by late resident Kay Aldridge, who enjoyed watching the developments.
“Leawood Manor is very pleased to accommodate an additional 8 clients in first-rate living standards. I’m highly satisfied with the quality and space created, following a smooth build and the result further complements our already beautiful home, enjoyed by our residents and the local community. I’m in no doubt that the new rooms are a fantastic prospect for anyone considering a care home.”
Located in Hilton Crescent, West Bridgford, Leawood Manor provides 24 hour, residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and has been consistently rated ‘Good’ by England’s health and social care regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
The home remains open to new admissions, in line with current Public Health England guidelines, with additional assessment measures in place prior to move-in. Leawood Manor hopes to celebrate the new extension with a community event when it is deemed safe to do so.
