The village of Bunny lived up to its name in the sweetest way possible today, as a giant Easter bunny bearing chocolatey gifts appeared on its village green.
To kick off Easter celebrations in style, KitKat® Bunny has brought a very special visitor to the sleepy Nottinghamshire village – a giant bunny made of real chocolate. The Parish has also joined in the fun and officially renamed the village from Bunny to Easter Bunny Village for the day.
Standing a whopping 10ft tall, the Bunny holds a hand-made basket made from real chocolate, filled with 698 KitKat® Bunny treats, one for every resident of the newly named Easter Bunny village.
The giant chocolate bunny’s appearance in Nottinghamshire comes as new research reveals the East Midlands County topped the list of the nation’s self-confessed chocoholics (22 percent compared to a national average of 16 percent).
The gargantuan bunny, which weighs 50 kilos and took 305 hours to build, was put up in the village at 5am on Saturday 25th March to give the villagers of Bunny an Easter surprise to wake up to. The bunny’s chocolate feet and woven basket were hand-made by one of Nestlé’s expert chocolatiers.
Lucy Fawcett, seasonal brand manager at KITKAT said: “Easter is the perfect time of year to celebrate with the gift of chocolate, and here at Nestlé, we’re not the only ones with a spring in our step. It was wonderful to see the thrilled reaction of residents as their village green hosted a very special visit from our giant Easter Bunny, who was of course, bearing some delicious gifts.’’
“We’re kicking off Easter festivities in style in the newly renamed Easter Bunny Village and we have a fantastic range of KitKat® Bunny treats to celebrate and have a break on us with.’’
Not only this, but Nestlé has also donated a bench to the village green in Bunny so residents can enjoy a break on KitKat, even after Easter festivities.
