Jumpers 4 Goalposts

16/04/2021 by Digital Media

Local organisation StepOutStayOut are organising a football event to take place in August.

On August 4th 2021, the next annual Jumpers 5 Goalposts event will take place at The Clifton Football Centre, NG11 8LU. The event will be Free and will run from 11am – 3pm. Don’t forget to bring your jumpers for your goalposts!

StepOutStayOut are looking for players to get involved plus groups and businesses to help showcase what they do. They also would love some volunteers to help with planning on the day.

The Army and police are confirmed to attend with much more to follow. “Let’s unite and already great community.”

StepOutStayOut provides sporting activities for all ages in the Clifton area. This includes weekly coaching sessions for young people, walking football for all ages and Jumpers 4 Goalposts events, which are inclusive to the whole estate and demonstrate their holistic approach. Their purpose is to develop future leaders for Clifton, encourage safer communities and build community cohesion.

They are a footballing project created by ex-offender Pete Bell, designed to give those within HMP a chance to develop coaching and mentoring skills, and create a motivational environment, to help avoid the vicious circle of release and re-imprisonment. Giving hope and a vision to the next generation…Stepping Out and Staying Out of crime

Currently they have a group who get together on a Friday evening to play sports at the Clifton football centre between 6pm and 8pm.

Their annual Jumpers 4 goalposts event brings the estate together with their partners, the Police, HMP Lowdham Grange Prison and the Army.

You can find StepOutStayOut on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
