A homeless charity in Nottingham has received a £1,000 donation from housing developer Taylor Wimpey.
The Friary, a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable people in Nottingham, has vowed to use the Taylor Wimpey donation to continue its offering of services to those most in need in the area.
Ben Talbot, Chief Executive at The Friary was thankful for Taylor Wimpey’s contribution. He said: “At the Friary, we have been finding new ways to support those that we work with during the pandemic. We have continued to be able to provide food, benefits advice and referral to any physical/mental health services that our service users require.
“We now need to adapt our centre and services to something that can fit with the ever changing requirements. The generous donation from Taylor Wimpey will be put towards purchasing PPE to enable us to look after the safety of service users and staff alike, such as the purchase of masks, gloves, aprons and cleaning materials.”
The Friary, located on Musters Road in West Bridgford, provides a safe place for people struggling with homlessness who are in need of warmth, food and drink, health and social support, access to computers to apply for benefits and jobs and a place to socialise with likeminded people.
