Holy Trinity Church is appealing to the local community for help raising more than £60,000 to install a new environmentally friendly heating system, solar panels and loft insulation.
The church’s heating broke down in January, and after exploring the best long-term solution, the church is now planning a major upgrade to ensure it remains warm and welcoming throughout the year.
Holy Trinity welcomes hundreds of people through its doors each week, providing a home for toddler groups, the Youth Café, a drop-in café, SEND Family Fun Mornings, community events and much more.
The church has already received £10,000 in donations, including generous support from Clifton Community & Family Support Group, the Menopause Madness ladies and anonymous donors. A further £1,500 has also been pledged by Clifton Bidding Bargain (CBB) Page “Smiles on Faces” Community Interest Company.
Rev Lydia Cartwright said: The church is incredibly grateful for the support, but there is still some way to go before winter.”
The church is now appealing to local residents to help close the funding gap.
