Edwalton Primary School are celebrating after receiving a letter congratulating their performance in the 2023 multiplication tables check from Minister for Schools, Damian Hinds.
In the letter, Damian Hinds says: “The excellent achievement of your pupils is something the Government hopes to see replicated in schools across the country…I would like to congratulate your staff and pupils for their hard work and to thank you for your leadership in continuing to promote the important subject of mathematics.”
Edwalton Primary School achieved an average score of 24.2 in the multiplication tables check, putting the school in the top 200 performing schools in England.
Dan Graney is Head Teacher at Edwalton Primary School and said both his teachers and children, deserved recognition for their hard work. “As a whole school we are very proud of our children’s efforts and achievement with their times-tables.”
“I am proud of the high quality teaching our children receive and want to thank the teachers for making children’s learning fun and effective. But most of all, we want to say a huge well done to children, their enthusiasm and hard work has paid off with these magnificent results. They thoroughly deserve this recognition.”
