Gunthorpe CofE Primary School Celebrate Chinese New Year!

04/03/2025 by Digital Media

What an amazing time our infants had celebrating Chinese New Year! The day was filled with fun activities, starting with some exciting noodle play where the children explored textures, shapes, and even made noodle art! Next, the children got creative with lantern making and snake crafts in honour of the Year of the Snake, adding bright colours and lots of imagination to their creations.

The celebration continued with a delicious food tasting, and we’d like to send a huge thank you to the wonderful Yeung Sing restaurant in Bingham for providing a selection of tasty treats for us to try and decorations for our classroom. The children loved sampling new flavours and discussing what they liked best!

The highlight of the day was the fantastic dragon dance! Everyone got involved, waving the dragon high and moving to the beat. It was so much fun, and we could feel the energy and excitement in the air!

We’d also like to give a special thanks to some of our junior children who joined us to share their own Chinese New Year traditions and how they celebrate at home. Their stories made the day even more special.

At our school, every day is filled with exciting learning opportunities, and we’re thrilled to offer a space for young learners to explore and grow. We’re excited to announce that we still have places available in our infant classes! Come join the fun and be part of our next celebration!
