Grow, Bake, Show! At the WBRHS Horticultural Show 2024

12/08/2024 by Digital Media

The West Bridgford and Rushcliffe Horticultural Society (WBRHS) is now in its 122nd year, with the Horticultural Show being a highlight for its members.

The WBRHS Show takes place at St Pauls Church Hall on Boundary Road, West Bridgford on Saturday 31st August.  The show will open its doors to the public at 12.45pm.

For a small admission fee of £1 (accompanied children allowed in free), come and see the fabulous displays of flowers, fruit, vegetables, cakes, pastries and preserves that both members and non-members of the society have entered.

In addition to the exhibits, there will be the chance to buy refreshments and bulbs for planting in the autumn and spring.  We also hope to have some plants and produce for sale.

Those that have entered will be excited to see the results of the independent judging that takes place in the morning and eagerly looking to see if they have won any prizes.

All classes are open to members and non-members of the Horticultural Society, so if you grow, arrange or bake, why not give it a go!   There are novice classes for absolute beginners and Children’s classes too.  Check out the show schedule on our website or facebook page (see below for details).

The show closes with a presentation of Cups, Medals and Awards at 15.45, by the Mayor, Councillor Andy Brown.

This is followed by a ‘not to be missed’ auction of some of the available, quality exhibits at giveaway prices.

For further information or to get a show schedule with full details of all the classes and conditions of entry please see the WBRHS website at http://www.wbrhort.co.uk or join us on our Facebook page – West Bridgford and Rushcliffe Horticultural Society Show (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2205107776452190/)
