Nottingham-based contractor Clegg Food Projects is continuing its long-standing relationship with The Greggs Foundation by sponsoring the Breakfast Club initiative at Highbank Primary and Nursery School in Clifton.
The Clegg Food Projects team visited the primary school on 29 February to help serve breakfast to students.
The Breakfast Club, which is operated by the Greggs Foundation, provides a free, nutritional breakfast to children who need it, to ensure pupils are prepared for the day ahead. The initiative has been running nationally since 1999, and currently provides breakfasts for around 62,000 school children at over 900 locations each day.
Oliver Jenkins, Business Development Manager at Clegg Food Projects, said: “We’ve been working with Greggs for more than twenty years, but supporting the Breakfast Club is incredibly meaningful as you can see the impact it has on local children.
“However, it offers children more than just breakfast but the chance to start their day on a positive note in a space to relax, socialise, and prepare for the day ahead – we’re really pleased to be involved.”
Stephanie Karlonas, Head of School at Highbank Primary and Nursery School, added: “The Greggs Breakfast Club has made a huge difference to how many of our students start their day and we’re very thankful for their support as well as their sponsors such as Clegg Food Projects. Their visit certainly livened up the pupil’s morning so a big thank you to Oliver as well as Lynne from Greggs Foundation.”
