The family and friends of a young girl in Cotgrave have organised a fundraising day to raise funds towards a dream holiday.
Leila, 7-year-old from Cotgrave was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in October 2021.
Following her diagnosis Leila has been receiving weekly chemotherapy which has left her feeling very poorly. Leila’s mum Kirsty has since quit her job as a self-employed hairdresser to take care of her full time.
Leila expressed a wish to go to Disney World Florida, so her family and friends have organised a community fundraiser on Saturday 19th February to help raise money to go towards her dream holiday for when she is well enough to travel.
Any additional monies raised, will go towards the treatment trial that Leila is currently undertaking.
During the fundraiser for this amazing cause, there will be lots to do, including an adult raffle, children’s raffle, tombola, lucky dip, a DJ, disco, bouncy castle, face painting, food, a one night only return of BOYBAND, and much more.
Tickets are £5 which includes a free raffle ticket. Children are free to attend.
The fundraiser will begin at 2pm on Saturday 19th February at Cotgrave Welfare.

As part of all the fund-raising efforts from the local community, five of Leila’s friends from school are taking part in a walk between Radcliffe on Trent and Cotgrave on Saturday 5th February.
Charlie, Percy, Joey, Freddie and Oliver wanted to help their best friend and raise as much money as they could. At the time of writing, the original £150 target had been smashed and running at over £1,200! Well done boys! What a fantastic achievement.
