Friends of Beeston Station planting for the Queen!

16/05/2022 by Digital Media

Members of Friends of Beeston Station (FOBS) recently spent a special afternoon planting red, white and blue plants in the flower baskets at Beeston Station.

It is hoped the plants will be flowering in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend in early June.

Trish Roberts-Thomson, the Chair of FOBS, said East Midlands Railway has been encouraging all its station adoption groups to consider commemorating the Jubilee in some way. For FOBS planting red, white and blue flowers seemed appropriate.

Closer to the weekend the Platform will be decorated with some ribbons and bunting giving it a festive air reflective of the occasion.

Trish said ‘we just hope that all passengers passing through Beeston Station in the next few weeks will notice the flower baskets and arrive or leave with a smile of their faces!’
