So, a new year has arrived and let’s be honest, as much as I love the festive season, I’m ready for a long break from it! Feeling a little bit drained? Here are some beauty products that will make you feel ready to start the new year fresh faced!
BLEMISHES
I know for a fact that I’m not the only person who constantly talks about this product – it just does what it’s supposed to do and I couldn’t live without it. La Roche Posay – Effaclar Duo helps keep my blemishes at bay so I can confidently wear no makeup. It controls my oily skin yet keeps it hydrated and it’s great for people with sensitive skin.
OILS
Kiehls has to be one of my favourite brands for skincare. I especially love their Midnight Recovery range – in particular the Botanical Cleansing Oil. Having oily skin, you’d think I’d run a mile, but in fact, the more oils I put back into my skin, the less oil I overproduce. With this product it removes makeup including waterproof mascara and it’s so lightweight that doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy! My skin is just left feeling fresh, soothed and balanced.
FACE MASKS
I try and find 20-30 minutes at least twice a week to treat myself to a really good face mask. You’ll be surprised how much your skin will love it! I’m always trying new ones, as there’s so many on the market. I always seem to come back to GlamGlow’s Gravity Mud and Sand & Sky’s Brilliant Skin Pink Clay! GlamGlow’s Gravity Mud is a peel off mask, which once it has dried it turns silver! It leaves my skin feeling fresh, firm and balanced. Sand & Sky’s Brilliant Skin Pink Clay dries white and once washed off with warm water and flannel my skin looks like new – radiant, smaller pores and feels super soft!
MAKEUP
I feel if you have a good base, then the rest of your makeup will look perfect. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC++ Oil-Free Matte (long name, I know!) is full coverage foundation that is so light it’s doesn’t feel like you have anything on. It makes your skin look so flawless! Even though it’s matte it doesn’t look “flat”. It even has the bonus of SPF 40 and some anti-ageing ingredients. If you can’t be bothered or don’t have the time to play with eye-shadow, then as long as you have a good mascara, then you’re good to go! I’ve recently discovered NARS’ Climax Mascara and OMG this bad boy gives lashes so much volume, that you don’t need falsies! The brush grabs every single lash – even ones I didn’t think I had! It isn’t clumpy and doesn’t smudge either – which is always a bonus! To finish off your look you always need a blush. There is 100s on the market, but there’s something about Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure that ‘s just gorgeous. With it’s unique powder formula of soft hues, lighting effects and multidimensional colours, it just brings everything together and completes any look.
