Free Afternoon at the Proms this spring

03/03/2026 by Digital Media

Nottingham Jazz Orchestra will be bringing their smooth classics and feel-good favourites to Beeston for An Afternoon at the Proms this March at a free event, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Serving swinging jazz sounds to East Midlands for half a century, Nottingham Jazz Orchestra bring their 17-piece band to Beeston for an afternoon of incredible live music.

An Afternoon at the Proms will be taking place at Beeston Youth and Community Centre, 2:00pm – 5:30pm, on Sunday 15 March. Capacity in the venue is limited so booking is essential, reserve your place for free today to avoid disappointment – https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-afternoon-at-the-proms-tickets-1980631271450?aff=oddtdtcreator

Originally planned for September 2025 in Dovecote Lane Park, this event has been rescheduled to an indoor venue, preventing any bad weather dampening spirits and postponing the fun.

2026’s event programme will see two more outdoor proms events in Broxtowe, in both the north and south of the Borough, keep an eye on Broxtowe channels for more details to come.

Portfolio Holder for Health and Leisure, Councillor Teresa Cullen said, “Nottingham Jazz Orchestra are one of the finest musical collectives in the whole of the East Midlands and it’s a pleasure to host them in our Borough. Free events like this are what makes our events programme so great, ensuring quality live music is accessible to all.”

The venue will have a licensed bar with drinks available to purchase.
