Pupils at a Calverton infant school are set to enjoy movie nights, following a donation from a housebuilder.
Manor Park Infant and Nursery school will host a series of outdoor cinematic events after receiving a £1,000 grant from Persimmon Homes Nottingham, as part of its long-running Community Champions scheme.
Tina Evans from the school said: “The start of the year has been very strange for many of our pupils and, as we safely return to a level of normality, we wanted to give them something extra to look forward to.
“Persimmon Homes’ donation will fund the outdoor seats, speakers and interval activities, making the event as memorable as possible.
“We are yet to select the films as we plan to let the children choose what they would like to watch.”
Persimmon donates up to £64,000 to worthy causes across England, Scotland and Wales each month.
Neil Follows, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “After such a disruptive start to the year for the younger generation we are very happy to support the school’s cinema nights.
“We’re keen to support good causes in the areas where we build and would encourage more groups to apply for funding.”
Persimmon Homes Nottingham is currently in the early stages of building 351 new homes in Calverton.
