The Portland Centre on the edge of the Meadows welcomed its first swimmers 110 years ago in 1914.
Portland Swimming club who are based at the Portland Centre have invested a considerable amount of money over the past few years to be able to install diving blocks for the first time in its history.
The clubs’ swimmers were the first to be able to dive in off the newly fitted diving block.
The club Chair, Paul Toplass said: “We have been waiting for a number of years to have the diving blocks installed.”
“We would like to thank all the club members, committee, The Portland Centre and Beaver pools at Keyworth for all their help to achieve this great milestone for us as a club.”
