Edwalton Golf Course will safely re-open for play from Monday, May 18.
In line with central government advice, the main course and par three course will re-open from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week in conjunction with course operators Glendale Golf.
The extended opening times are set to maximise the opportunity for local people to enjoy a game whilst reducing the likelihood of queuing on tees and the driving range is also expected to open soon once further risk assessments are completed.
Tee off times are now available to book at https://bit.ly/3bway2Hand will be restricted to two balls and golfers are requested to not arrive any earlier than 15 minutes before their tee time.
Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council and ward member for Edwalton Cllr Simon Robinson said: “We’re delighted the facility can re-open safely in line with COVID-19 advice and those who enjoy a round of golf can do so again.
“It is essential that we closely observe the requirements for a phased and safe return to golf here. Therefore we ask that all customers follow our safety guidelines when visiting the centre.
“Exercising safely where possible is vital for mental health in light of the pandemic and we hope this gives even more residents an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors whilst observing social distancing.”
Measures to ensure safe play in line with government advice include:
- Members of the same family can play together or a maximum of two people from different households with appropriate social distancing
- Specific advice on golf equipment around the course from England Golf UK guidance
The clubhouse remains closed until further notice but there will be updates on when this facility may also reopen.
Walkers who have safely used the course as a place to exercise during COVID-19 can continue to use the area but are asked to keep to the signposted footpaths around the course and be extra vigilant of golfers’ games.
