After 20 years of consideration and development, East Leake writer, Chris Garbett, has finally brought together and published his collection of fables called How it Came to Pass.
This book of fables is a fascinating series of short stories examining creation and the development of species, focusing on mankind through the humanisation of the female as well as looking at other species, including fish.
This is a delightful, thought-provoking and, above all, entertaining book. Chris has a unique writer’s voice and his wry humour, accurate observation combined with his skilful writing to create a whole series of new worlds in this captivating collection of stories.
Chris belongs to the East Leake Writers’ Group, affectionately known as the Leakey Pens. His short stories have been published singly across the world. One of his pieces became a set text for English Literature in Canada.
He is a chartered surveyor and is the author of many professional publications. He is currently collaborating to create a virtual writers’ community to keep writers in touch with each other during the Corona Virus epidemic.
A second collection, looking at artificial intelligence, is starting to take shape, along with a series of poems specifically written for the forthcoming East Leake Cultural Festival.
Chris’ book is available on Amazon. Plans for its public launch event have been postponed due to current events. Updates can be found at the East Leake Writers Club Facebook.
