We are the Dovecote Nursery in Clifton, a teacher-led nursery supported by well-qualified, nurturing staff who fully understand the developmental needs of the children in their care.
The wellbeing of the children is at the centre of everything we do. Having happy children and building friendships and social skills is our priority. Happy, secure children are ready to learn and we have lots of fun along the way. We value curiosity and exploration and make use of the outdoor environment every day whatever the weather. Every child at Dovecote learns Spanish, starting in nursery.
Our Early Years has consistently been rated GOOD by Ofsted. A 2019 report said: “Warm and positive relationships are evident across the early years. Safeguarding is effective and children are well cared for so that their social skills flourish. There is a happy and cooperative atmosphere across the provision.”

Our nursery has recently been refurbished giving it an open plan environment full of inviting workshop areas for the children to learn in. We have also been developing our outdoor environment. We want to provide the best indoor and outdoor learning opportunities possible for our children.
We offer FREE full time places to all children aged 4 and to 3 year old’s who have 30 hours funding. All children receive a book bag with some freebies inside, to start them on their journey through school. Children who bring in funding can also have free school dinners and are given an extra uniform voucher.
We work closely with families and value the contribution that your learning at home has towards your child’s education. Family support workshops are available to all families. There is a fortnightly themed session that you can sign up to or you can request a one to one confidential session for support with anything. Sometimes families just need to talk and there is always someone to listen.
