Dining Out: Mount Gurkha Spice

15/02/2022 by Digital Media

Award-winning Mount Gurkha Spice has a very impressive menu and offers authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine to a level very much worthy of seeking out. The hand-picked chefs have many years of cooking, to the finest of Nepalese and Indian standards, with experiences in India, Dubai and England. The greeting from Nirmal is welcoming and genuine.

Following the Poppadoms and very good Pickle Tray, I opted for the Mixed Starter (Lamb chop, chicken tikka, tandoori king prawn, salmon tikka). Certainly, most impressive, for presentation and flavours. For main I selected Gurkha King Prawn Masala (Tandoori king prawn cooked in butter, ground almonds, fresh cream and special masala sauce). Again, an excellent presentation and with complementing flavours, throughout. ‘Compliments to Chef’, were duly awarded – without hesitation! Mahasharma ensures, with the kitchen personnel, that all dishes are perfect and remembered for a long time. I chose Peshwari Naan and Jeera Rice to accompany. Other main course choices included Special Platters, Chicken, Lamb, Fish and Seafood dishes, plus Vegetarian options.

For dessert, I went for Coconut Supreme (Coconut ice cream, served in a real coconut shell) – great taste and flavour. Wines/drinks offer quality productions, from global origins. Thank you to Nirmal and Basu, for exemplary service, from start to finish. Gift vouchers and 15% off collection orders, plus free delivery within 4 mile radius (min order over £15.00), are also available. Parties, receptions and occasions are easily accommodated, too. Very much recommended.
