Local children and families have enjoyed a magical start to the festive season, as Santa made his grand arrival at Notcutts Wheatcroft Garden Centre on Sunday, November 17. Santa arrived by horse and carriage where he was greeted by crowds to officially celebrate the start of Christmas fun at Notcutts, including opening the garden centre’s magical grotto.
Elsie, age 7, was lucky enough to arrive with Santa and enjoy the first visit to the Christmas grotto after winning Notcutts’ festive drawing competition.
Notcutts’ enchanted winter grotto is now open for the festive season for children to meet Santa and receive a special gift. Children can also enjoy a memorable breakfast or tea with Santa himself in the Notcutts restaurant, and dogs can join the fun too with an exclusive visit to the furr-tastic Santa Paws pet grotto.
Jon Wilson, general manager at Notcutts Wheatcroft, said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us in Edwalton to welcome Santa to our garden centre for Christmas. It was a magical moment when Santa arrived in style, and it was lovely to see so many local families enjoying the fun. The countdown to Christmas has truly begun at Notcutts and we are excited to welcome families throughout the season for our range of festive activities.”
The Notcutts restaurant is also now serving their two or three course Christmas feast, which includes traditional classics like roast turkey as well as new favourites such as vegan sweet potato and vegetable tart, or chocolate orange tiramisu. Seasonal treats, a festive afternoon tea for two and a new hot turkey sandwich are also now available to try.
To avoid disappointment, Notcutts recommend booking all festive activities such as Santa’s Grotto and breakfast or tea with Santa experiences in advance. Christmas meals are advised to be booked in advance. To find out more or to book, visit notcutts.co.uk/christmas-events or call the garden centre on 0115 921 6060.
