Council sets out ambitious plans for the Borough

01/04/2020 by Digital Media

Broxtowe Borough Council has set out its ambitious new plan for the Borough over the next four years to make it a greener, safer and healthier place.

The Corporate Plan 2020-2024 was adopted by the Council in March and was developed following feedback from the Council’s Borough-wide consultation, ‘Let’s Talk Broxtowe,’ which ran last year.

“With a focus on Housing, Business Growth, Environment, Health and Community Safety, the plan has some ambitious targets to help us tackle some of the biggest challenges we face” said Leader of the Council, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE.

“Just some of the things we’ll be doing during the first year of the plan include implementing our Housing Building Delivery Plan, securing more accommodation for the homeless, securing tenants for Beeston Square, developing our Carbon Reduction Strategy, investing in our parks and open spaces, increasing recycling and composting rates, developing a new Mental Health Action plan, working with partners to address anti-social behaviour, producing a youth action plan and employing additional resources to support those affected by domestic violence.”

Deputy Leader, Councillor Steve Carr said: “Thank you to everyone who contributed to the consultation and shared their thoughts and own ideas with us to help us come up with a plan which reflected what the local community wanted to see for Broxtowe.”
