A new community hub in West Bridgford opened its doors to Rushcliffe residents in September, offering a welcoming space to boost physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
The hub, located at the West Bridgford Young People Centre on Bridgford Road, will be open every Monday from 10am to 4pm. Despite the venue, the hub is open to all residents aged 18 and over who are registered with a Rushcliffe GP.
A key feature of the hub is the weekly Community Connections Café, a drop-in session held from 10am to 12pm, where residents can enjoy a hot drink and meet the Rushcliffe Social Prescribing team. This session is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to find out more about activities, services, and groups in the local area that can support their overall wellbeing. Whether you’re interested in fitness, mental health, or simply looking to make new connections, the Social Prescribing team is there to provide personalised guidance and resources.
The hub will offer a wide range of activities throughout the year, including cooking classes, dance sessions, breathwork workshops, and psychological wellness programmes—all designed to help residents live healthier and happier lives. Whether you’re seeking information or just a friendly chat, the drop-in café is a great place to start.
Cllr Roger Upton described the hub as a vital resource for reducing social isolation, while Social Prescribing Team Lead Morgan Sharpe highlighted its inclusive approach to wellbeing, ensuring support for both physical and emotional health.
