The newly formed Clifton Town Board have started working to lay the foundations for the strategic projects and priorities of the Levelling Up Fund awarded to the community from Government.
Up to £20 million pounds of funding is available to meet strategic goals within the community around three interventions of Safety and Security, High Streets, Heritage and Regeneration, and Transport and Connectivity.
Stephen Hackney, Chair of the Board said: “These are exciting times for Clifton and the intention of the Board is to drive forward initiatives for the community that will be underlined by community listening, hard data and creative thinking. We see this fund as an endowment for the future of Clifton offering an opportunity to engage in community transformation that otherwise might remain off limits.”
Despite having to delay sharing information about the Town Board due to election rules, board members have been busy analysing the feedback and ideas gathered from the recent survey, in order to turn the community’s responses about investment and development, their priorities for the area and how they want Clifton to develop into a 10 year vision and 3 year plan.
These will be submitted to the government for approval in August in order to utilise the funding available, and the board look forward to being able to regularly update residents on progress.
