A keen cyclist has completed a 500 kilometre charity bike ride without even leaving her home.
Nineteen-year-old Isobel Conibear from Nottingham covered the distance on a static fitness trainer to raise money for the national charity PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
It took Isobel 14 and-a-half hours to complete the distance which is equivalent to 310 miles.
“I’ve done triathlons and I love distance cycling but I’ve never done anything like this. I only took a couple of breaks and I must admit I was aching a bit afterwards but I’d definitely do it again,” she said.
Isobel, who is a student at Southampton University, decided her father’s static trainer was the perfect way of fundraising for PAPYRUS while still observing social distancing under lockdown.
So far she has raised £170.
“I know lots of young people struggle and PAPYRUS is a really great charity. I just wanted to do my bit to help raise some money and say thank you for the work they do,” added Isobel.
