It may have been a couple of years since our last Stilton Stumble but enthusiasm for our event was just as great as ever.
Over 250 runners turned out on a Sunday morning to take on the 10k route through the beautiful countryside around Cropwell Bishop and Colston Bassett. For those who remember the torrential rain of previous years, this year gave us perfect conditions, with beautiful blue skies and not a drop of rain in sight!
There were people challenging themselves, personal best times, a few hills and many happy runners over the finish line to claim their medal, chocolate and the obligatory piece of Cropwell Bishop Stilton!
Huge thanks go to all our runners. It was great to see some familiar faces and welcome new Stumblers.
A big thank you also goes to our sponsors and to all the volunteers who helped on the day, at the hall and on the course – marshalling, car parking, photography and providing drinks, cakes and bacon butties. We couldn’t have done it without you.
As well as being a fantastic day for all, we managed to raise £2,000 which will be split between our two charities, the Friends of Cropwell Bishop Primary School and the 1st Cropwell Bishop Scout Group.
We are already looking forward to next year and hope to see you all again on Sunday 15th October 2023!
