A group of young lads from Calverton have joined together and organised not one but TWO successful football events raising money for charity.
The first event was held last year on 5th October when the boys gathered together on a day off from school to organise a charity football event, off their own backs. The day resulted in raising a total of £75.
The second more recent charity football event took place on Thursday 30th January 2020. The boys smashed it again, raising a total of £76.

After each event, the lads came to the local village café, Harry’s Café and Sandwich Bar on Flatts Lane, where they distributed the money between two charity tins. One charity was the MS Society, and the other was in aid of The National Autistic Society.
What a fantastic and inspiring group of boys sporting a positive attitude and initiative to helping others.
Philippa Harris, the previous manager of Harry’s Café and Sandwich Bar said, “I’m so proud of these boys and feel after lots of bad press now a days, these lads need recognition of the fantastic event they put together.”
