BWP (Broxtowe Women’s Project) would like to say a huge thank you to some of its friends and supporters for some extraordinary fundraising efforts this summer.
Our founder, Andrea Lucy-Hirst (pictured on the left) raised £220 through an Open Garden event and sales of her poetry book, Ease The Drawer, while the Beeston and Chilwell Garden Trail raised £150 for us from their open garden event on 12 and 13 June.
Andrea Lucy Hirst and Ginny Hartman
Local writer, Ginny Hartman (pictured right), also recently donated £90 from the sale of her book ‘The Giant, The Dream Machine and Me, and a further £1 from every sale will also come to us. You can get your copy of the book at Iguazu, Two Little Magpies and the Canal Heritage Centre in Beeston.
Both Andrea and Ginny were thanked in person while they attended our 20th Birthday celebrations at Chilwell Methodist Church recently.
We are also delighted that our dedicated counselling space will be redecorated and made more fit for purpose thanks to a generous donation from Screwfix. The £4,900 will be used to redecorate, re-carpet and re-furnish, making it a calm space for contemplation and recovery.
The Sage Trust, a local family run trust that supports vulnerable people in need, have also kindly gifted us £1,000.
Thank you to everyone for their kind support over the last few months.
