Residents enjoyed an afternoon of music and community spirit at Burton Joyce Parish Council’s annual Picnic in the Park, held at The Grove.
The event featured a lively performance by Burton Joyce Community Brass, who entertained the crowd with a varied programme of traditional favourites and modern tunes. Each piece was introduced with interesting background information, while audience participation added to the fun, making it an enjoyable experience for people of all ages.
Burton Joyce Parish Council organised the popular community event, with special thanks going to Deputy Clerk Jayne Savage for her work behind the scenes. Appreciation was also expressed to volunteer Cameron, whose help on the day contributed to the event’s smooth running.
The Parish Council thanked everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon such a success. The Parish Council is already preparing for two of the village’s most popular annual celebrations. The traditional Fireworks Night event will take place on 5 November, followed by the Christmas Lights Switch-On on 5 December, which promises to bring festive cheer to the village.
