BJ’s Fish Bar in Burton Joyce is preparing to celebrate two decades of service in the community, by rolling back their prices 20 years to the year 2000.
From 4.30pm onwards on Wednesday 29th January, which is the 20th anniversary date of the ever- popular chippy, customers will be able to place their orders and only pay the prices that were on the menu 20 years ago.
Local girl, Niki Percleous, has been the woman behind the business right from the beginning. She told us: “I don’t know where the last 20 years went to be honest. I remember our opening day very well, almost as if it were yesterday. To our amazement there were queues all the way down Main Street waiting for the doors to open. The community embraced us right from the word go, it’s just been really nice”.
She continued: “BJ’s has been serving the community for two decades and me and my staff are always keen to honour our roots, so we are making this roll back gesture as our way of saying thank you to all the loyal custom we have had over the years”.
Niki been in the catering business for over 30 years in some form or other. Her family owned Pappas Greek Restaurant in West Bridgford, which was very much a part of her life when she was growing up.
The fish bar prides itself in using the best ingredients around as customers have become a lot more conscious about what they eat, where it all comes from and how it has been produced over the past 20 years. Changing trends have always been catered for, perhaps most recently with the introduction of gluten free options on the menu.
The roll back of prices will apply on Wednesday, January 29th only, from 4.30pm onwards.
