Beeston Library presents The Big Draw 2019

18/09/2019 by Digital Media

Drawn to Life Family Arts Workshop at Beeston Library. Aiming to get everyone to flex their creativity by drawing. The Big Draw invites us all to explore drawing in all its forms, and this year we invite you to drop in and draw with Jim Bond’s interactive kinetic drawing machines on 31st October at Beeston Library, from 10am-12pm.

What are kinetic drawing machines?
The machines make your pen dance wiggle and spin across the page as you try to work out the next move to keep it on the paper.

The ingenious machines make the drawing experience accessible to everyone regardless of your experience of art, making this workshop fascinating, entertaining and suitable for individuals of all ages from 5+.

The Big Draw is the world’s biggest drawing festival, focusing in 2019 on spreading awareness of the positive and vital role of creativity for health and wellbeing in order to lead a healthier and happier life through their #DrawnToLife. Their opportunities are accessible, fun and creative and have become more important than ever.

The Big Draw welcomes drawing lovers and those new to drawing to join the global community and celebrate the universal language of drawing. The festival first launched in 2000, since then it has taken place in 26 countries around the world and engaged over 3 million people. Each year from 1-31st of October thousands of drawing activities connect people with schools, galleries, museums, libraries, village halls, refugee organizations and outdoor areas, and with artists, scientists, Illustrators, designers and inventors.

They are also proud owners of two world records. Many famous authors such as, Philip Pullman and Chris Riddell, illustrators Oliver Jeffers, posy Simmonds and sir Quentin Blake and artist Tanya Raabe-Webber have supported and been involved in the festival.
