Animals steal the show at Manor House Garden Party

15/09/2024 by Digital Media

Radcliffe Manor House held its annual garden party on 6 July, and this year as part of the ‘fun for all the family’, alpacas, lambs and ducks featured as guests.

Back in April five ducklings hatched inside the Manor House to the delight of residents and staff alike. These ducklings have been adopted by Eleni, the activities coordinator, are now rather large ducks which Eleni brought back for the afternoon for visitors to feed. With the help of her son, Eleni has set up ‘Quack Cam’ in her garden with a live feed into a sitting room in the Manor House so the residents and staff can see how the ducks who were ‘to the Manor born’ are developing on a daily basis.

Anstey Alpacas brought along three shorn alpacas (it was a hot day) which visitors could feed and pet; the small brown one is aptly named Coco. Also present from Bank Farm Stanton on the Wolds were two (quite large) lambs on leads for visitors to take for a walk; the smallest had the cute name of Bambi and both enjoyed being petted.

A big thank you to the staff, committee and volunteers who organised the event and to the many people who attended and supported it.

We look forward to welcoming even more guests next year, including our animal friends!
