The much anticipated first Beeston light night has been confirmed to take place in January 2022.
The event is to be a celebration of light and the creativity of Beeston. As the sun goes down and the stars come out, the streets of Beeston will light up with light installations and celebrations.
#alightinBeeston pilot night was expected to take place in November this year, but due to organisation time and council permissions, the decision has been taken to move the event to January 29th.
The added time before the event takes place means that the event will be even bigger and better than first imagined!
Plans for a permanent neon sign to be placed in Beeston is still awaiting approval.
Organiser Jeanie Barton said, “The neon centre piece #alightinBeeston is now in the Broxtowe planning system (ref 21/00722) and we hope to gain approval forthwith.
“We have installations planned for the length of the high road from Broadgate to Bartons and also for the Central Avenue shop parade – we would like to encourage all corners of Beeston to participate, lighting their windows etc for this one night.”
