Adam Pickering comes to Beeston

24/02/2024 by Digital Media

We have exciting news! Adam Pickering – Founder of Hockley Hustle, Co-Director of Nottingham’s Green Hustle, and Environment Co-Editor and Partnerships Manager at the carbon neutral LeftLion Magazine, is coming to speak at Middle Street Resource Centre on Tuesday 27th February 18:30 – 20:30 and everybody is welcome.

Adam set up Hockley Hustle in 2006, a hugely popular annual arts and music festival, which has now raised over £165,000 for charities. He then helped set up Green Hustle in 2020 – an annual festival weekend of green activities, food, music, film screenings and talks which drew 10,000 people to Old Market Square last summer.

The vision of Green Hustle is to grow a healthy and thriving Nottingham, and to bring diverse communities together to create a greener world.

They’ve certainly done their bit so far, planting Nottingham’s first Tiny Forest in Woodthorpe Grange Park (one of the first few in the country) and they’ve also planted close to 5,000 trees in the city.

Adam won a Nottingham Award at last year’s Goose Fair Dinner for making a lasting contributing to this city and its people. He will talk about his guiding principles of inclusivity, diversity and positive action and there will be a chance to ask him questions.

The format will be a “fuddle” where everyone brings a bit of vegan food, and then we all grab a bit of everything.
